The Class 40 RC is arriving at Skip & Sea!

The Class 40 RC: 30 Years of Passion in 76 Centimeters

David has been sailing for 30 years (or even 40!). He has skippered high-performance sailboats, trained young sailors (some of whom have competed in the Vendée Globe), weathered storms, and raced on various platforms. And since we created Skip & Sea together, he has added a new passion to his achievements: reproducing the sailboats he admires in miniature.

The Class 40 RC 76cm is the fruit of his perseverance. Months spent learning 3D design, printing, testing, and starting over. Hours spent adjusting the rigging, sanding the hull, and sharpening the sails to optimize them. And the result is an RC sailboat inspired by the Lift 40 V2 — one of the class's most refined designs — that truly sails.

A Legendary Class

Class 40s are 12.20m offshore racing yachts that compete in the Route du Rhum, the Transat Jacques Vabre, and other legendary races. Accessible, high-performance, modern — it's the class that has best succeeded in making offshore racing human without sacrificing intensity.

Our Class 40 RC captures these lines in 76cm. The same round, spoon-shaped bow, the same impression of speed. If you follow offshore racing, you'll immediately recognize the silhouette.

Three Options — Choose Your Adventure

Three options, for three types of sailors:

3D Plans — 40€ You have a 3D printer and want to do everything yourself. Purchase the complete STL files, accompanied by detailed assembly instructions. The rest is your playground.

Printed Kit — 360€ The hull is printed in our workshop, in ABS-CF and XTCF 20 — carbon fiber reinforced materials that we also use on our other RC models. You add the rigging and hardware, as well as the servos. You assemble, equip, and adjust. All without lamination, with just a little filler and sanding, the hull is ready to sail. For model builders who are handy without starting from scratch.

Ready-to-Sail — 950€ Assembled, adjusted, equipped, with its rigging and sails (main and genoa), and painted in the color of your choice. You charge the batteries, and it's ready to sail. This is the option for those who want to sail quickly without weeks of assembly.

What's Under the Hood

76cm long · ABS-CF hull · XTCF 20 appendages · carbon mast · fixed keel · balanced rudder · Dimension Polyant woven sails (the same fabric as on our Pt'Imoca sails) · customizable Insignia reinforcements. And custom decoration on request.

Stable and predictable for RC beginners, reactive enough to interest racers. More compact than the Pt'Imoca 84cm, more maneuverable on small bodies of water.

Made to Order

Kits and ready-to-sail models are made to order in our workshop. Lead time: 2 to 3 weeks. Plans are immediately downloadable with instructions.
