⛵️ The miniature Class 40, inspired by the real Class 40 offshore racing yachts, is a remote-controlled version that is 76 cm long (hull overall).
Designed by David Moreau, it is inspired by the hull shape of the Lift 40 V2, conceived by Marc Lombard.
💡 Its main asset: it requires very little external material, with almost all components being 3D printed. No lamination is necessary! And it's very easy to take anywhere.
📐 Detailed specifications:
- Hull length: 76 cm
- Overall length: 82 cm
- Mast: fixed, 1 spreader level
- Draft: 27 cm
- Total weight in sailing approx. 2 kg
🛠️ The miniature Class 40 is delivered as a self-assembly kit (or ready-to-sail), offering a complete assembly experience for enthusiasts who want to control every step of the construction.
Designed to ensure lightness and robustness, printed by us in our workshop, this model is perfect for ambitious model enthusiasts or fans of miniature offshore racing.
This kit includes the following items:
- hull components with numbered transom,
- appendages (keel fin, rudders),
- keel bulb (cast lead),
- assembly instructions (available in French and English),
- .stl files of the plans (on request).
You will then need to add the servos, screws, a remote control, and some carbon tubes for the mast, keel, and boom.
The hull components are printed in ABS-CF. Carbon-reinforced ABS-CF, lighter and stronger, optimizes the model's performance by offering better agility on the water. This material also has better heat and sun resistance.
The appendages (rudders, keel fin) are printed in XTCF 20 (carbon PETG) for increased rigidity.
The kit does not include hull decoration or sails.
NB: Optionally, you can also choose to have the sails made and to have the sails and hull decorated. For this, go to the Sails or Decoration section.
